A Reiki lineage is a line of teachers that connects a Reiki practitioner directly back to the founder of Reiki, Dr. Mikao Usui, essentially acting like a family tree showing who taught whom in the practice, and highlighting the specific teachings and techniques passed down through that line of instruction.
Keeping track of teachers signifies the lineage of knowledge and practice a practitioner has received, ensuring the authenticity of Reiki teachings. When a Reiki practitioner lists their lineage, they name their teacher, then their teacher's teacher, and so on. In this case, the original teacher of Lotus Light Reiki© will always be Karen A. Kovacs. Karen's teacher is Dr. Mikao Usui.

Since 2010, Karen has received energetic downloads that form the foundation of Lotus Light Reiki©. During this time, she began selectively teaching and offering attunements to trusted clients, ensuring they were prepared to work with this powerful energy under her guidance. However, it wasn't until late 2023 that Lotus Light Reiki© truly gained momentum, evolving into a transformative practice ready to be shared more widely.
